Reviews of the Latest & Greatest in Gluten Free
(unsolicited/unsponsored - just the truth!!!)
Glutenfreeda's Gluten-Free Burrito -
I LOVE burritos. The day I was diagnosed & realized I couldn't have Chipotle Burritos anymore, I was actually excited as it meant a lot less calories in my diet!
I've stared longingly at the frozen burrito/wrap section for over 5 years... until today. Glutenfreeda's Burrito with its huge Gluten-Free callout called to me from the freezer case.
The Chicken & Cheese Burrito was delicious and FULL of flavor! All-Natural Chicken, Organic Red Peppers, Cilantro, Serrano Peppers, Rice and Sour Cream are just some of the great ingredients. I loved the mexican flavors. It isn't pretty, but really what frozen burrito is?
Super easy, super delicious and only 227 Calories with 9g Protein - I recommend this as a great, quick (< 3 minutes) option for lunch or dinner!
I also picked up the breakfast burrito... review to come later!
Annie's Creamy Deluxe Gluten Free Mac & Cheese -
If your idea of homemade Mac & Cheese is by Grandma, please disregard this review. If your idea of homemade Mac & Cheese is by Kraft, you are in for a treat!!!!
I was REALLY excited to stumble upon Annie's Creamy Deluxe Gluten-Free Mac & Cheese yesterday. I am happy to report that it really exceeded my expectations!!!
Taste:
Think Velveeta Shells & Cheese, but naturally delicious
Superior to all GF M&C, on par or above normal boxed M&C
Texture:
Ultra-Creamy Cheese
Noodles feel normal, not gritty!
The summary:
Yum, Yum, Yum
Fast & Easy to Make
Doesn't taste gluten-free! Great for the entire family!

Udi's Plain Bagels - so fabulously delish!
Let me just say... the fact that Udi's qualified these as "plain" bagels gives me hope that maybe someday there will be Blueberry, Asiago, Everything etc... one can dream!
I am excited to announce that I just had my first bagel in over 5 years and it was AMAZING! It brought back such fond memories of the "Bagel Fridays" that we had at work, which I hadn't participated in since I was diagnosed. I teared up when I ate my first bites. Seriously. When you haven't had something for over 5 years, all the emotions of food come rushing in when it is that good.
This bagel would be delicious for just about anything - a sandwich, toasted with cream cheese, dipped in cinnamon & sugar... the possibilities are endless! Great texture, delicious flavor and stays intact when cutting or toasting. A+++
Do yourself or your gluten-free loved one a favor and order them today! Udi's is 3 for 3 with me - I highly recommend their multi-grain bread, plain bagels and blueberry muffins!
Lakewinds Natural Foods - Best Gluten Free Grocery Store!
Whenever you move, it can take awhile to find all the hidden gems in your neighborhood. Luckily for me, someone told me about Lakewinds Natural Foods when hearing that I was moving to the 'burbs soon - it is a
gluten-free paradise.
They specialize in organic, natural and locally produced products but the most amazing thing to me is their attention to Food Allergies.
GLUTEN FREE is marked better than any other store I have ever seen! In addition, they painstakingly go through and add dots to each shelf label to indicate if a product is free of certain allergens.
Add to that the Gluten Free DELI & BAKERY items, gluten free classes, the gluten free guide, the 8 gluten free endcaps during March and the knowledgeable staff and I think I've found myself a winner for top Gluten Free grocer!

Pizza Review - the pizza that shall remain nameless
One of the great things about having unsponsored reviews is that we can bring you the truth about the gluten-free products out there.
My advice? If you see one that looks like the small pizza to the right, don't invest your $$$. It shall remain nameless, as to not slander the product.
Maybe it wasn't fair that it was competing in looks will a gluten-filled pizza, but really gluten-free companies??? We may not be able to have wheat, but if we're buying a pizza with dairy cheese, please don't skimp! Frankly, most gluten-free pizzas would benefit from a ton of cheese to hide the taste of the crust.
This crust was spongy, flavorless and the baking times were very off (we tried preparing this pizza in 3 different ovens).
If I knew more about frozen pizza, you can bet I'd create a line of amazing #gf pizzas with enough cheese to go around!
Got Pinkberry? No? Get Fro-Zing!
The 1st time I had Pinkberry in LA was a life-changing experience. I never knew that tangy Frozen Yogurt existed & was so delicious! I became addicted, visting Pinkberry every time I was in LA/NYC trend-shopping for work.
Kemps has jumped on the tangy frozen yogurt bandwagon with Fro-Zing!, what they describe as "Frozen Tangy Amazingness". The fact that they put a word like Amazingness on the packaging made me like it instantly.
The Good: 110 Calories & 1g Fat per serving makes this a great alternative to ice cream. The flavor was great & was extra delicious when mixed with fresh Strawberries.
The Bad: It contains both High Fructose Corn Syrup and Corn Syrup, ick. For Pinkberry devotees it does not have the same consistancy (as it is not soft serve).
The Verdict: If it did not contain HFCS, I would definitely recommend the Vanilla. It's a great alternative to high-fat ice cream, a not so great for you alternative to plain organic yogurt.
Available Flavors: Vanilla, Strawberry, Raspberry, Pomegranate Blueberry, Mixed Berry, Mango Peach, Cherry Vanilla, Blueberry
